Welcome to the NFA Ham Radio Club

The Norwich Free Academy Ham Radio Club (W1HLO) aims to increase students' awareness of amateur radio, its uses, and its academic values. W1HLO was first established at NFA in 1944. As a member of the club, students will be able to:

    • Learn concepts for acquiring their amateur radio Technician Class license.
    • Participate in using different modes of amateur radio (e.g. phone, data, CW)
    • Participate in one yearly project.
    • Apply (and learn) math and science skills to smaller projects (e.g. constructing antennas, constructing circuits)
    • Use computers and programming with amateur radio.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Girasoli.
